Last day of August

Well, I've introduced myself on the forum for the class I signed up for. Now I just need to decide which direction to go in for the actual album - traditional, digital or art journal! Maybe a little bit of all of them!!! I was hoping this would jump start my scrapbooking, but now I feel like there are too many decisions!!! Well, either way, I'm ready to start this new adventure in September!!!!

Maybe if I sew for a little while, I'll come up with an idea or two for the LSNED class ;)

a photographic/scrapbooking diversion

I found this on one of the blogs I follow and thought this would help jump start my scrapbooking.




I also wanted to take a class to improve my photoshop skills, so I thought this mini class would be perfect. I really like the photo journals, so this class should help with that!

First Project

Quilter's Quest specially design fabric Table Runner
This was inspired by the table runner at Jenny Byer in VA.


This is the center square. The special fabric depicts sites around Washington DC.









Here is the completed top. I couldn't believe how fast and easy it was to put together. Now I just have to figure out what fabric I want to use for the back and how I want to quilt it. Decisions, decisions, decisions. I also need some time to play. To bad I am sick...

First attempts with new machine

I finally got my new machine and I am off! Back in November friends and I went on the Maryland and N. Virginia Quilters Quest. I loaded up on fat quarters and made a list of projects I wanted to do. Only problem is my machine is pretty old and not working right. About two weeks after the quest I decided on a Bernina 630E. I've only had it since Tuesday, but I've made a table runner top, cell phone/ mp3 holder and a purse. I got to play a little bit with the built in lettering too. I've already bought more fabric for more projects which will become Christmas presents. Since Thursday I've been sick, so I haven't played too much :(
